LCRA Matagorda Dunes Water System Improvements
Matagorda, Texas

TCE provided a complete renovation to a water system on the Matagorda Peninsula. The project included construction of approximately 3,100 L.F. of 6-inch PVC water line and 91 water service meters to replace a 4-inch line and a completely unmetered water system. In addition, approximately 2,200 L.F. of 4-inch PVC water line was installed to convey a second well supply to a new 30,000-gallon reinforced fiberglass reservoir at the first well site. A new 250 gpm high service pump station in a 16’ x 24’ CMU building and a new 5,000 gallon hydropneumatic system were provided at this site. Each of the two 100 gpm well sites was renovated with a new wellhead meeting TCEQ criteria. The ultimate rated capacity of the system was 250 connections. The new facilities were designed and sequenced by TCE to keep water service operational during construction and demolition of the existing facilities.
