Solid Waste Transfer Station
Burnet, Texas

As an additive alternate bid to a $1,252,000 City maintenance complex, TCE designed and permitted a solid waste transfer station. This design included a 3-lane dumping station, dumpster chute, and trash compactor housed by a pre-engineered metal building. TCE designed the station to transfer 100 cubic yards of municipal solid waste per day. The permitted site was 0.658 acre and included water quality and detention design. The Municipal Solid Waste Texas Commission on Environmental Quality application included environmental considerations and complete design analysis for all components. This Type V MSW Transfer Station was issued by the TCEQ in January 2004.

The City of Burnet performed a cost analysis and subsequently decided to contract solid waste services to an outside provider.
